With this in mind, I'm inspired to give you the first ever official Hive creative challenge. The subject matter is Autumn. You can create anything that inspires you from the season of August to November. This challenge begins today at noon EST and runs until October 31st, PST.
Here are the rules:
1) The piece should be a new piece that we have not seen before here on TheHive. You may have as many entries as you wish.
2) Create a post about your piece - the subject line should contain the words "Hive Creative Challenge" - (you can then add whatever you want to the title)
3) Add the link to your blog post as a comment in this blog. We will automatically highlight it to let everyone see your work for this challenge. I'm also creating a group just for this challenge, so you can add the post to this group too - this will give a central location to view all of the posts.
4) Let your friends know about the challenge. We will determine the top 10 by number of 'likes'. Because 'likes' are anonymous there can be no hard feelings about votes. You can vote for more than one piece, but you cannot vote more than once for an individual piece. (you must be a member of TheHive to vote - as nonmembers cannot 'like' or comment on posts)
5) The top 10 posts will then be given to an official judge (anon) to determine the winner! The winner will be announced on November 15th.
Each entry will receive 200 Hive points. The top 10 finalists will each receive an additional 250 points. The single winner will receive 1000 Hive points AND a $50 Amazon gift card.
UPDATE: Hi Everyone!! Quick note... I notice that some are using the 'post to group' feature rather than creating your own blog and adding it to the group by checking the box under the blog writing box (must have joined group for box to appear)... if you do this, we cannot feature the blog and no one can 'like' it! You MUST create a blog and add it to the group or no one can vote on it!!
