Autumn is a great time for birdwatching here at my New England studio. Our lake attracts all shapes and sizes of migrating backyard birds and waterfowl. From great blue herons to flocks of cedar waxwings, there's never a dull moment. Our best of the best though, is a splendid bald eagle that loves to perch in a snag at the quiet north end of the lake. From the branches of this dead tree he gets a great "bird's eye view" of any fish activity and keeps a watchful eye on kayakers. :) In this original painting, I take some creative license and group lots of species together at one "Rest Stop". Love it. Love your identifiable birds, they remind my of being a little girl at my grandfather's in the fall and watching the bird feeders... | |
