| Teal & Orange Wedding Scheme |
I was just thinking how much I liked the colors teal and orange together (thank you, Sunset magazine for using those colors on a recent cover to inspire my new garden patio color scheme) so I Googled those colors to see what else I could find. Along with ideas for orange and teal weddings and dishware, I came across an interesting article written by Todd Miro who decries the use of that particular color combination and how it has taken over Hollywood.
Who knew? I certainly never noticed that color scheme in any particular movie. Maybe I wasn't looking close enough. After reading his article, where he illustrates and condemns the "insidious practice of color-grading every movie with a simplified, distilled palette of Teal and orange", I realized he's right. That color scheme is in LOTS of movies, and I like it.
Todd writes well and uses images from recent films to support his case and it got me to thinking, is this maybe why I like teal and orange so much? From all the movies I've watched that subliminally brainwashed me into loving the color combination because I loved the movie? Or have I always liked that color combination and so have a lot of other people and the use of these same colors in movies is just a reflection of that? Whatever the case, I've included a link
here to his interesting article so you can decide for yourself if Hollywood is abusing teal and orange. As for me, I'm still a fan. And, I can't wait to show off my beautiful orange and teal partyware collection at my next party.
