Ok, I've finally fallen onto the Pinterest bandwagon. I've been holding off because it just seemed like such a waste of time. Suddenly my marketing side kicked in and I realized the power of pinterest. I've asked our programmer to add a "pin it" button to our site, but what I didn't realize is that Pinterest kind of took care of that all on their own.
If you have a Pinterest account, installing a button on your browser, so you can pin items from all over the web onto your boards is easy. Here is a video with the instructions.
In a nutshell though, just drag the "pin it" button onto the toolbar.
So, why should we be pinning each other's work to our boards? Well, if you see something you really love, it's great to share it with other. Pinterest is fairly viral. If you are pinning a blog that has a tutorial, consider adding "tutorial" or "DIY" in the title (it will ask you to put a title) along with any keywords
Like on this one, I called it "felt bumble bee ornament tutorial" - this way when it spreads around pinterest, someone who likes it, that wants to make it, may click on the photo and find their way back to my blog - where the instructions are.
So, in other words, pinterest is just a visual site that can help make our blogs viral. That's why I've finally decided that Pinterest is worth my time and energy and you'll be seeing me tag many of your photos on my various boards - to help you get more exposure for your arts and crafts! I hope you'll do the same!
