Anyone Out There Know This Handsome Fellow???

Since we're playing the genaeology game around here a little, I wanted to post this cab card photo to see if it's a known relative, or a relative unknown. I got it at "Random Arts" in Saluda, NC; I bought it because the guy is the spit'n'image of Kurt Russell, the actor. Then I looked at the inscription on the back: William B. Allen "Granpa Allen".

I have kissin' cousins named Allen (my mom's best friend from 1938), so it made it all the easier to plunk down that $4.00! So, anyone out there with Allen relations in southern NC or norther SC? And, if so, any eligible teenaged bachelors that look as good as this guy? (my daughters made me ask that)

The reason I am posting this particular card, and not the hundreds of other cab cards I have is that the writing looks like a fairly recent addition, although I didn't ask at the shop where they might have picked it up, maybe he's localish, maybe he's from Milwalkee--Who knows? You know? Let me know!

He does look like a younger Kurt Russell. Russell is my maiden and my great grandfather married a Nettie Hall and her (Nettie's mother) was a Anne Allen. So I wonder if he is related to me. Now wouldn't that be so cool.

Yes my Allen came from North Caroline and South Caroline and then into Alabama, Tennessee and into Texas.

Sounds like he spread himself pretty thin there Donna.

There was a William Allen born in Charlotte around 1700, but the next couple of generations had no "Williams" that lived past 3 yrs. There were sons who lived, but no info came up for what children they might have had.

Right now, I'm going with "William McDreamy Kurt Allen" and claiming him for my own--until a little more investigating goes on!

My mother's, father's, mother's people were Allen's. My grandfather's grandfather has the same eyes as the man in the photo but I only have photos of him as an old man. Perhaps they were related? Anyhoo it's a great find!

Wow, Jenn, got any idea where the family lived in the mid-1800's? I would love to see one of the old photos, can you get a hold of one? Maybe I should shoot an email to Kurt himself? It's so fun!
