Craft Room Organizational Ideas you might want to try....

I've hired a professional organizer to come put my office/craft room into some orderly, organized fashion so that it's both pretty and functional.  I moved my office into our home when we moved to St. Augustine and we downsized about 1000 sqft to have that beautiful view.  My office/craft room has almost no wall space now and everthing has been everywhere in stacks.  That's just not acceptable.

I gave my organizational specialist a couple photos from an issue of Where Women Create that I particularly liked and let her go on my space.  It's still a work in progress, but we should have some great momentun next week and I'll share photos when we get there.

In the meantime, I've been looking through hundreds of craft room organizational ideas and thought I would share some of my favorite with you....

The Daily Buzz offered 25 ideas to make your life easier.... and they really weren't kidding. Personally, I'm glad to finally know how to fold fitted sheets =) Those things are crazy, arne't they?

Alissa Fast got creative on this trash to treasure pedestal organizer, then a bunch of other great ideas were found online using the same technique.

Kendra McCracken shows off these lovely button jars in a similar storag technique.  You should check out her craft room too.... it's really rustic and charming.

Unfortunately I don't have the originator of this idea, but it was great!  It's just shower curtain rods, binder clips and ziplock bags.... easy, inexpensive and very organized.

Spunky Junky gives this idea for storing ribbons....

And finally, Creating Keepsakes made the list again with their Clip it Up system, a great way to store stickers, patterns and other flat items.

I can't wait to share my craft room makeover with you.  Who knows, maybe even I'll get some good ideas in =)

LOVE these ideas!  Especially the pedestals!!  I have an old lazy susan that I think I'll use for a base and have a turning, multi-tiered storage unit.

LOVE the shower curtain and ziplick bag idea.  That might even work for odds and ends of yarn left over?  The difficulty might be what amount is too much to do that way.  Currently I have mine stuff pretty well organized in containers on shelves in the basement by color.  But, the small balls get sorta lost in the big containers.   Must see if that idea might work.  Thanks for sharing.

Wow! love these ideas.  I'm definitely going to use the ribbon storage.  I checked out their blogs as well and found a lot more great ideas.  Thanks for the tips.

The pedastals do it for me, too! I am already mentally sifting my boxes of unpacked kitchen items to make a few--thanks!

Love the old blue mason jars, I have a couple of those. We all seem to be on organization of studio mode! I bought another old enamel top table today for mine. I have to wait until Saturday (hubby is working) to bring it home a haul it upstairs. He doesn't go upstiars much. I hope I can make this work!!

hugs

Great ideas.  What I like about them is that they're a pretty display of all the various items.

Great ideas!  I especially like the pedestal idea....I picked up a set of trays from HL several months ago and haven't used them for anything yet...I'm thinking this might be perfect for spools of thread!  Like that ribbon basket idea too!

Love your ideas. I have the jars and bags but never thought about the stands or to use the baskets with holes for ribbon.
