The Great Owl Challenge!!! Halloween (or Christmas owls???? :)

Hi All,

I am challenging folks to create...who, whoo...wait for it... an owl(s). I would love to see the owl be a part of Halloween again on equal billing with all the other Halloween icons. And since there seems to be a graying between Fall holidays and Winter holidays (see how I cleverly worded that? ;), why not an owl for all seasons? How about a Christmas owl or a Thanksgiving owl or all of the above?

Due to my limited sculpting skills, creating an owl is an actual challenge. For you, maybe not so much!

Any medium is fair game or combination there of.

Let me know if you wanna play. Squeeze it into your schedule and challenge yourself to a duel of skills!

COME ON! (You can rest when you die!)

I'm in, but what is the deadline? I'm in the middle of repainting 6 rooms, which means a lot of time shuffling things around, masking, texturing, cutting in, painting, faux painting,-well you get the idea. Not to mention all the clean=up.I have a baby shower to host on the 18th, so the rooms need to be finished soon. Then once I can get into my art room again, I'm game.

Heck yeah! I don't care when they were made. My goal is to create awareness around the long, lost owl! I will have to find a way to showcase them on Oct 15th...

Dennis,

Here's the link to a "Linkie" tool where folks can upload a little avatar with the image of their entry. Then folks click on it to go to their blog or wherever they're hosting the picture. It may be the same one Joni uses on her challenges, I'm not sure. But lots of sites are using these now, and it makes it a lot easier for the host (aka... you!)

Dennis, I ADORE owls! I LOVE owls! I WANT an owl for my very own! (ok, scratch that last part).

If you're throwing down an owlie gauntlet, I would love to take up your challenge! I only hope I have the time to create something besides web pages and making resort guests happy! Ha!

I'm in.... I have a special connection with owls as my grandmother used to collect them when I was little! I so agree that they need to be part of the magic of Fall and Halloween... and what about the white owl for winter!!

What links specifically are not working? I know that some things like Linkey (I think that's what it's called) doesn't interface with us. Ask Joni Nickrent how she did her challenge... she just did one.

I love the flickr group idea. I just went and signed up to join.

When Joni did the challenge with the link tool, she hosted it on her own blog and then posted the link to it here. The advantage to doing it that way is that it draws folks to YOUR BLOG! Since we'd all be posting our entries on our blogs and linking to yours, it could be a lot of exposure for you.

Just wanted to share that in case you choose to start another challenge. It's a good way to bring traffic, followers, and business to your site by hosting a challenge.

I'll still put a link to your blog/site in my blog posts about the challenge since it's "your baby" :D

This Challenge is simply to bring awareness to the plighted and missing owl. All the items entered in this challenge can be auctioned, sold, bartered or given away at the creator's discretion. Does that answer your question? :)
