Hello Magpie

I have knack for design and a penchant for the unique. I like to make, create, and design things. I celebrate the ordinary. I like the classics and the eclectics. I am inspired by the simple + enamored by the natural. I believe that repurposing takes courage. I think that handmade and high quality can live together harmoniously. I am an artist, designer, and traveler. I am a neighbor, believer, and seeker. I am a hunter, collector, and protector. I support my community and love local.

I believe old-fashioned is always in style.

I am Evelyn, the owner of Hello Magpie. I hope you will visit us and find some treasures of your own.

At Hello Magpie, we celebrate function and form, classic beauty, and timeless quality. We also try to make life a little better (and a little greener) by offering clever gifts + goods made of natural, organic, handmade, recycled, upcycled, biodegradable +/or vintage materials. As often as possible, we source things made in the U.S.A. and all of our packaging is 100% recycled, recyclable or biodegradable.

What are your favorite hobbies?
Crochet, sewing, gardening, travel, playing video games (but don't tell anyone!), showing love for shelter animals, baking, writing, and advocating holistic and eco-friendly living.
Who are your favorite artists and why do they inspire you?
Unknown, historic folk artists like the Gullah quilters of the Sea Islands. Real people, real handicrafters making functional art from nothing to support themselves and their families.
What brings you to The Hive?  What can we help you with?
Support and learning. Life is nothing without these things. I hope to contribute nuggets of wisdom and get the same in return. My ultimate goal is to help support my family and feel like what I do makes a difference at the end of the day.
