There is so much to do, and so much to weave! I've specialized in weaving silk scarves, and I could not be happier with the results. I pay attention to all the details - making a rich optical effect by choosing multiple colors from various indie dyers (or, sometimes, dyeing the yarn myself), researching interesting weaving structures, and making sure the finished hems and fringes are Just Right.
What mediums do you prefer to work in?
4 to 8 shaft weaving structures, preferably with silk
Who are your favorite artists and why do they inspire you?
I have a list: Judith MacKenzie McCuin, Abby Franquemont, there are so many fabulous fiber crafts people out there!
What gives you inspiration?
brainstorming ideas with other crafts people
