My obsession with art and vintage style started at a very early age - my parents always encouraged me to use my creativity. I completed my first embroidery at 4, and started flea marketing with my Mom shortly thereafter. I have very little formal training, and one of my biggest joys is finding out how to do something on my own. I love Halloween, and last year I started Gertie and Company - and my main focus has been vintage inspired and found object mixed media collage. I started slowly last year, but I am hoping for big things this year.
What mediums do you prefer to work in?
Vintage and found objects, and paper.
Who are your favorite artists and why do they inspire you?
Jennifer Murphy - I love her unique style, she uses vintage materials and her attention to detail is amazing.
Jenn of Noodle and Lou - I really appreciate her love of all things vintage. She has a great eye and her artwork reflects it.
