I have worked in the private sector as a Home Stager, Interior Designer/Re-Designer, Executive
Recruiter and VP of Marketing. These days, however I am volunteering my time by founding a chapter for the non-profit organization, Mothers & More in the Greater Raleigh Durham area. The chapter is Mothers & More Greater Raleigh/Durham, Chapter 331. We can be found on our facebook fan page http://tinyurl.com/363hleu and Twitter (mandmchapter331). Our web address is, http://www.mothersandmore.org/chapters/GreaterRaleighDurham/ and we are about to have our Big Tent page go live.
I have been a member of Mothers & More for several years, because it is the only organization I am aware of with no political affiliation, that is dedicated to improving the lives of ALL mothers and their needs as individual members of society. Mothers & More promotes the value of all work mothers do, whether paid or unpaid and is open to women of all stages and ages.

Additionally, I am a big supporter of advocacy and community outreach in general. Mothers & More, with over 100 chapters nationally is very involved with ACO. One of the largest and most well known advocacy and community outreach projects Mothers & More is involved with is our annual purse drive, called Power of a Purse. Last year over 100 chapters donated over 10,000 new or gently used purses to women in various shelters and other womens programs. There were so many purses left over that collaborations with organizations such as Dress for Success and Junior League were formed and the excess purses were donated to their various chapters. Mothers & More is also very actively involved with Women Build, a division of Habitat for Humanity.
As you might be able to see in reading this little bit, I am a strong supporter of the organization and very much enjoy helping to empower other women and receiving the same in return...even if it's just by being there, keeping company for the occassional Mothers Night Out.
