I fell into doll making about a year ago. I was in a local craft store and saw an issue of Art Doll Quarterly. It had the most amazing gothic looking dolls on the cover. (Spring 2010) I never knew that dolls were being made like this. It was an eye opening experience. I immediately bought the issue, and pored through the pages gaining inspiration at every turn.
I knew from that moment that I had to start making dolls. I sought out tutorials, books, anything I could get my hands on - which was unfortunately limited. There aren't as many resources for clay doll makers as there are cloth. I signed up and took Jane DesRosier's cloth and clay class and made an acceptable looking first doll. From there it has been a lot of trial and error!

What gives you inspiration?
I take inspiration from everything around me. Nature has started playing an important role in my work, but even a scrap of fabric, or a single word may be that something that gives me a lightbulb moment.
