What mediums do you prefer to work in?
I prefer watercolor and embroidery. Although, I am very fond of the computer and enjoy painting digitally as well. I am a mixed media artist at heart I have oils, acrylics, gouache, colored pencils, fabrics, beads, chocolate and many other materials at my fingertips to be called upon if a project demands it.
Who are your favorite artists and why do they inspire you?
There are many artists I adore including Jessie Wilcox Smith, Mary Cassatt, Alphonse Mucha, Johannes Vermeer, and John Singer Sargent. I am captured by their sensitivity to line, color as they expressed the story of their subjects.
What gives you inspiration?
I get inspiration from living life. I am always on the look out for color and subject ideas, textures and techniques. Some things that get my mind reeling include traveling, shopping, walking though nature or a museum, browsing a blog or site, listening to my student's stories, reading books, decorating and cooking... the list goes on!
